Our consultant participated in a SAP rollout project for a power plant in Malaysia, assisting the client in implementing Finance, Materials Management, Maintenance, Human Resources, and Sales & Distribution solutions across three power plant sites.

Challenge

In addition to rolling out the SAP solution, a major challenge was to implement a new safety solution to replace a costly legacy application. A SAP-based Work Clearance Management (WCM) solution was introduced at a cost equivalent to just one year’s support fee for the UK-based legacy system. This eliminated the need for ongoing maintenance and support fees, providing significant cost savings for the client.

Solution

An enhancement model was adopted to develop applications for scaffolding works, confined space regulations, and radioactive work safety requirements. Additionally, standard tag-out/lock-out procedures were implemented and fully integrated with SAP, ensuring compliance with safety protocols while streamlining operations.
