The airline implemented SAP with iMRO, and Tecxed handled critical areas such as:

• Aircraft crisis management
• Reliability engineering
• Audit management
• Document management system

The primary challenge was crisis management and the ability to lock master data with a single click. An aircraft may have hundreds of master data points related to its systems, equipment, components, measurement points, documents, open notifications, work orders, and all other relevant data required for investigation. In the event of a crisis or incident, an immediate data lock was required for investigation, followed by an unlocking process once the crisis was resolved. This solution was successfully designed and delivered with proper authorization controls.

Reliability was another major challenge, which was addressed through a custom design using BI and BO dashboards. Historical and real-time data were seamlessly integrated to enhance reliability engineering. Audit management was also a key focus area. It was designed to facilitate audits for various vendors, components, and aircraft systems by analyzing an 800-page audit manual. Key insights were extracted and implemented without any system enhancements, significantly reducing costs and operational complexities. As a result, audit planning and execution became much more efficient.

The project was particularly challenging due to its large scale. At the time, SAP had no built-in MRO solution, leading to unique challenges in the aircraft servicing business. The client required real-time service planning, taking into account factors such as resource availability, materials, scaffolds, mobile docks, hangar availability, and aircraft landing schedules. Service data was stored in a third-party system, while SAP was utilized to plan service slots in advance. This complex scenario was successfully delivered by overcoming technical challenges and leveraging SAP APO expertise.
